Neighbourly Love

Somewhere in our fine city of Edinburgh an Englishman and a Scotsman live next door to each other. The Englishman, naturally wanting to show his allegiance to England in the World Cup, has hung the St. George cross in his window. His neighbour has gone not one, but two better:

Scottish & English neighbours

Pretty much sums it up…

Banter between neighbours is healthy in most cases, we certainly hope that this was meant in the same light hearted manner!

Ah yes – the overt racism of the scots. Not something most people find funny.

Would we be laughing at this if there were physical distinction between the English and the Scots? Such as colour perhaps? I doubt it.

    Bigotry is still bigotry.

Don’t remember seeing that strange blue flag in any of the world cup matches…

I wonder how the English would feel if they constantly had to listen to commentators talking about how great the Scots were, or Wales, or Northern Ireland in every game whether those teams were playing or not.

In any case this looks like a joke.

@JAFFA consider the following before waving your bigotry flag quite so self-righteously:

      1. Every World Cup we are told how England “must” win it “again”.

      2. Scotland has a long history of supporting the underdog.

“Banter between neighbours is healthy in most cases, we certainly hope that this was meant in the same light hearted manner!” Just a pity you can’t take it in the vein it was meant.
