Located on Chambers Street, admission to the museum is free, and it provides an excellent educational opportunity for children and adults alike.

Edinburgh Zoo is family friendly, both for visitors and residents!
The Edinburgh Zoo, built in 1913, gets over 600,000 visitors a year. That means the zoo can be crowded, but it’s a educational experience that shouldn’t be missed. The Edinburgh Zoo has over 1,000 animals, and sits on nearly 85 acres of land. One of Europe’s premier zoological parks, the zoo is home to penguins and rhinoceros, as well as a collection of African mammals that is considered among the most complete in the world.

Family Sport In Edinburgh
Of course, it isn’t just educational opportunities that are available in Edinburgh. There are sporting activities such as rugby and soccer, all of which make excellent family activities. Much like American football in the States, soccer provides one of the most popular pastimes in Europe. Families can visit either of Edinburgh’s two football teams, both of which play in the Scottish Premiere League. Matches can be seen at both Easter Road Stadium and Tynecastle Stadium.
